Cleveland Cavaliers (-1) vs New York Knicks
After an impressive start to the season, the Knicks have started to slide down the standings. They’re now 8-11 following three consecutive defeats and have lost seven of their last 10.
The Cavaliers, meanwhile, are hanging on to sixth place in the East after winning four of their last six, including a 122-107 victory over the Pistons on Wednesday night.
These teams are 1-1 in two meetings so far this season, with the Cavs winning the most recent meeting 106-103 on 15 January, and they should again claim victory on Friday night given the Knicks’ recent slump.
Toronto Raptors (-5.5) vs Sacramento Kings
The Raptors’ disappointing season continued with defeats to the Pacers and Bucks in their last two games, but those are both certain playoff teams and Toronto should bounce back against weaker opposition on Friday night.
The Kings are 13th in the West with a 7-10 record, and six of their 10 defeats so far have been double-digit blowouts.
Sacramento have the second-worst net rating in the NBA this season and are 2-4 on the road, so the Raptors – who are 5-4 at their temporary home in Tampa – are worth backing for a comfortable win.
Brooklyn Nets (-8.5) vs Oklahoma City Thunder
The Nets’ superstar trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving are starting to click, with three consecutive wins lifting them to fourth in the Eastern Conference.
Brooklyn beat reigning conference champions Miami twice in the past week and have now won seven of their last 10 games.
They should comfortably beat the Thunder, who are 8-9 this season but have lost five of their six home games.
Denver Nuggets (-4) vs San Antonio Spurs
The Nuggets are on a roll, winning five consecutive games and eight of their last 10.
They blew out the Heat 109-82 in Miami on Wednesday night and now have a 7-2 record on the road – the joint-second best in the NBA.
San Antonio have won two in a row to move to 10-8, but they’re just 4-5 at home and six of their eight defeats have come by a margin of at least five points.
