What is a Heinz bet and how does it work? Heinz bet explained

What is a Heinz bet?

A Heinz bet is a type of multiple bet that consists of 57 wagers across six different selections. The 57 bets included in a Heinz are:

  • 15 doubles
  • 20 trebles
  • 15 four-fold accumulators
  • 6 five-fold accumulators
  • 1 six-fold accumulator

How many bets are in a Heinz bet?

A Heinz consists of 57 bets across six different selections.

How does a Heinz bet work?

A Heinz bet first requires you to make your six selections.

These bets are most commonly made when betting on horse racing, so six selections simply means picking six different horses.

For example, let’s say your selections are:

Horse A to win the 12:30

Horse B to win the 13:10

Horse C to win the 13:50

Horse D to win the 14:30

Horse E to win the 15:10

Horse F to win the 16:00

A bet will then be placed on all possible doubles, trebles, four-folds, five-folds and six-folds among your selections.

Unlike a standard accumulator bet, which requires all of your selections to win, a Heinz adds a form of insurance in that just two of the six need to come in for a return.

That return is unlikely to cover your initial stake, but should several of your horses win, then the return can be very high.

How do I place a Heinz bet?

All you need to do to place a Heinz bet is head to the Betway sportsbook and pick out your six selections.

Once those selections are in your betslip, simply scroll down to the Heinz option and enter your stake.

How much does a Heinz bet cost?

It is important to understand that the 57 bets within a Heinz are treated separately, so you are essentially placing 57 bets at once.

This means that your stake will be multiplied by 57.

So, if you place a £1 win-only Heinz, then it would cost you £57.

Can I place an each-way Heinz bet?

Yes, you can place an each-way Heinz bet.

It is important to note, though, that an each-way Heinz consists of 114 bets instead of 57. This is because you are backing each selection to win and each selection to place.

A £1 each-way Heinz would therefore cost £114.

To place an each-way Heinz, simply tick the E/W box next to each of your selections in your betslip.

How do I calculate a Heinz bet?

With so many different bets on several different selections, it can be hard to know exactly what returns you are in line for when placing a Heinz.

It is always recommended that you use an online Heinz calculator to work out your potential returns.

What is the difference between a Heinz and a Super 63?

A Super 63 is another type of multiple bet formed of six selections.

The difference between a Heinz and Super 63 is that the latter also includes six singles on top of the double, trebles, four-folds, five-folds and six-folds.

What are the other forms of a multiple bet?

A Heinz is a form of a multiple bet, which allows punters to group several bets into one and stand the chance of winning big.

Other types of multiple bets include Super Heinz, Lucky 15, Trixie, Patent, Yankee and Canadian bets.
