Our writers’ 10 best football tips

Will Rook and Adam Drury provide their football tips for Saturday’s action in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two and Bundesliga.

RB Leipzig to beat Cologne & over 1.5 goals (14:30)

RB Leipzig have a 100 per cent home record in all competitions after nine matches.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side have scored at least two goals in every game at Red Bull Arena so far.

Cologne were thrashed 4-0 by Leverkusen last time out and have only managed two victories all season.

Coventry to beat Sheffield Wednesday (15:00)

Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 2-0 by fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest in midweek – their fourth straight defeat.

The Owls are winless in nine matches, eight of which have come under Tony Pulis, who has made the worst start of any manager in the club’s history.

Coventry have taken eight points from their last four matches and are unbeaten in eight.

Charlton to beat Swindon (15:00)

Third-bottom Swindon’s 2-1 defeat at Doncaster on Tuesday was their fourth in a row.

The Robins have lost seven of their last 10 league games and 12 out of 18 overall.

Play-off chasing Charlton hammered AFC Wimbledon 5-2 last time out and have won eight of their last 12 in League One.

Cheltenham to beat Barrow (15:00)

Managerless Barrow slipped to within one place of the League Two relegation zone following their 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe on Tuesday night.

The Bluebirds are winless in their last 10 in all competitions and have lost five straight league games.

Third-placed Cheltenham were beaten 1-0 by Bolton in midweek, but had won four and drawn two of their previous six.

Everton to beat Arsenal (17:30)

Arsenal came from behind to draw 1-1 with Southampton in midweek to pick up only their second point in six league matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side have lost seven of their last 11 matches in the Premier League and currently sit just five points above the relegation zone.

Everton have won back-to-back matches to nil against Leicester and Chelsea.

Accrington Stanley v Blackpool (15:00)

Accrington have scored in nine of their 10 home matches this season, with BTTS landing in both of the last two.

Stanley have also scored five goals in two away games in the last week, losing 4-3 at Wigan last weekend.

Blackpool have scored in seven of their last eight away games, beating Hull 3-2 last time out.

AFC Wimbledon v Crewe (15:00)

BTTS has landed in five of AFC Wimbledon’s seven league matches at home this season, including a 4-2 defeat to Bristol Rovers last time out and a 4-4 draw with Plymouth earlier in the season.

Saturday’s hosts have also produced 5-2 and 1-1 scorelines away from home in the last week.

Excluding the EFL Trophy, BTTS has landed in five consecutive Crewe matches, including two 2-1 victories in the last week.

Colchester v Morecambe (15:00)

Both teams have scored in seven consecutive Colchester home matches.

Steve Ball’s side have scored in 17 straight outings overall, with both teams scoring in 15 of them.

Morecambe have also scored and conceded in all of their last three games.

Arminia Bielefeld to win or draw v Schalke & under 4.5 goals

The worst two teams in the Bundesliga meet here, but we have to back against the team without a win in 28 league matches.

Schalke last picked up three points on 17 January. They have lost their last three home games to nil and have only scored eight goals in 12 games this term.

Arminia haven’t been much better this season, but their crisis is nothing on their hosts’. They have won a couple of matches, and look a good bet to take at least a point in a low-scorer here.

Emiliano Buendia (Norwich) to score v Cardiff (12:30)

These look fantastic odds for the best player in the Championship to extend his scoring streak.

Buendia has netted four goals in his last six games, takes the seventh-most shots per game of any player in the league, and is involved in most of what Norwich do going forward.

Cardiff have conceded twice in both of their last two games, and should be outclassed by the Argentine here.
